We are developing a plan to launch an annual Clyde Festival along similar lines to London’s Totally Thames festival.
The Clyde Festival will be unique to the region and encourage participation from artists (visual and performing), maritime history enthusiasts, sailing activities (yacht races, tall ships events, rowing, etc), skills preservation, education and sharing of research (workshops, talks, etc) in such areas as modern maritime industry and marine science (biodiversity, affects of climate change, etc). We aim that it will eventually become an expo of everything to do with the Clyde.
We aim to encourage people and communities to come back to the river and make use of it for leisure, transportation, education and research.
The festival will bring together both existing and new independent activities, events, festivals, etc into a summer-long programme throughout the region from Glasgow to the Ayrshire & Argyll coasts and the Clyde Islands.
